What drink or foods did you ingest today that came in plastic containers?  They are almost impossible to avoid these days.  Many of these containers give a steady dose of phthalates. As a result, phthalates get stuck inside our bodies, silently stockpiling over a lifetime.

The chemical and food industry asserts that these chemicals are harmless in small amounts. The truth is that these chemicals build up over time and are destructive to your body.

What Are Parabens?

Parabens are commonly listed on product ingredient labels as listed below. If you find these difficult words on your products, it’s time to replace them.

Be your own detective and determine from the ingredient list if phthalates are hidden in your favorite fragrance.

What Are Phthalates?

Phthalates are very difficult to avoid in our modern world. Phthalates are a group of chemicals used in hundreds of products.

  • vinyl flooring and wall coverings
  • detergents
  • lubricating oils
  • food packaging
  • pharmaceuticals
  • nail polish
  • hair sprays
  • aftershave lotions
  • soaps
  • shampoos
  • perfumes
  • other fragrance preparations

We are all ingesting, inhaling, and absorbing through our skin a significant phthalate load, which quickly moves to our bloodstream. However, with conscious decisions about the products you buy, you can greatly reduce your exposure to these harmful chemicals.

Damaging Effects of Parabens and Phthalates

With repeated exposure to parabens and phthalates, you may notice unpleasant changes in your body. These changes often develop over time. The result, unfortunately, is a serious diagnosis.

  • chronic diseases start to appear
  • accelerated aging sets in
  • hormonal systems go haywire
  • triggering of cancer takes place

The good news is that you can change your products and start detoxing to rid your body of these toxic chemicals.

Recipe for Daily Detox Cocktail

  • a heaping teaspoon of Vitamin C powder (pure ascorbic acid powder)
  • 300-600 milligrams of Lipoic Acid
  • 400-800 mg of glutathione
  • Take with 1-2 glasses of water

  • boosts cancer-killing cells

Benefits of Lipoic Acid and Glutathione

Lipoic acid is a powerful anti-oxidant and neutralizes lactic acid in the body caused by anxiety, exhaustion, and pain.

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant found in every cell in the body. It is made of three types of molecules known as amino acids.  Amino acids combine in different patterns to make all of the proteins in the body.

Glutathione is unique in that the body is able to make it in the liver, which is not true of most antioxidants.

Cosmetics and Fragrances

How do you know if your favorite products contain parabens or phthalates?  Actually, it’s a well-known fact that the FDA does not regulate the cosmetics industry, giving them free rein to use whatever ingredients they like (except for a few ingredients that have been prohibited).

Under the authority of the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act (FPLA), the FDA requires an ingredient declaration on the cosmetic products sold at the retail level. Determine if products you already own are about to buy contain phthalates or parabens by reading the ingredient list.
